Senior Project Manager

for restaurant and foodservice projects with 10+ years of experience

Essential Skills and Responsibilities

  • Manage client, team, and project coordination and communication for multiple fast paced projects at a given time
  • Advanced technical problem solving capabilities regarding building construction and technologies, and advanced coordination with consultant disciplines
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Manage project finances including fees, contracts and internal and external budgets
  • Manage relationships with clients
  • Lead in house team with preparation of existing conditions site surveys and full entitlements, code, health department, and accessibility reviews
  • Manage design development and construction document packages with project team, consultants, contractors, and vendors
  • Successfully navigate hearings with building and zoning officials regarding project approvals (locations throughout the United States)
  • Perform construction phase services and project close-out

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including recent experience with restaurant and food service projects
  • Experience leading interiors and architectural projects
  • Architecture Licensure or NCIDQ certification preferred. LEED AP accreditation is a plus
  • Proficiency Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office required. Proficiency with Revit a plus

Senior Designer

for academic foodservice, residence halls, hospitality and restaurant projects with 15+ years experience

Essential Skills and Responsibilities

  • Exceptional graphic communication skills including the ability to graphically communicate an idea quickly and effectively
  • Knowledge and understanding of the food service industry, including merchandising, business strategy, visual presentation, furniture, equipment and millwork; hospitality/amenity, space design, academic housing design
  • Initiate innovative design concepts and lead strategy efforts for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to execute test fits and feasibility planning, research and select finishes and materials, and create design presentation decks and full schematic drawings including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, and exterior elevations
  • Strong technical base including working collaboratively with consultants in the fields of MEP/FP engineering, lighting design, food service, and equipment design
  • Lead, manage and mentor design teams (most staff have 5-10 years experience)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work closely with clients while building trust and loyalty and directing the decision making process related to design
  • Meet deadlines with high quality, thoughtful solutions in a fast paced environment
  • Maintain an active and visible presence in the design community through participating in industry events and conferences, involvement in professional organizations, and representing Bergmeyer in business development opportunities
  • Knowledge of and insight into dining and hospitality design trends in areas such as emerging markets and experiential design

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Interior Design
  • Minimum 15 years of design office experience in academic, workplace, and hospitality projects
  • NCIDQ certification required (LEED AP status are strongly preferred)
  • Graphic and verbal presentation skills including hand sketching required
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office a must. Experience with Revit and SketchUp a plus

  • Technical capabilities regarding storefront design and detailing, building construction, and technologies
  • Ability to graphically communicate an idea quickly and effectively
  • Ability to conduct site surveys and full code and accessibility reviews
  • Strong organizational skills 

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design
  • On the path to licensure or NCIDQ certification; LEED AP status a plus
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office a must.
  • Minimum of one year of design office experience (including internships and co-ops)
